Cornelius Scanlon: Post # 2

There was a power outage all morning here from 2 am till 9 am or so --  so by the light of my mini book light, I organized files and planned my agenda for the next visit to the FHC – which should be tomorrow.

I checked soundex codes for Cornelius Scanlon of 81 Dove Street in Boston and for Cornelius Shanlan, the godparent or sponsor at the baptism of the “Lismore John Higgins” in County Waterford, Ireland.

The Soundex code for:  Scanlon, Scanlan, Shanlon, Shanlan is S545.  This means each of these surnames simply sound the same in English.

I traced/am tracing the Cornelius Scanlon of 81 Dove Street in Boston – and his plausible migration from Massachusetts to the state of Missouri.  I’ll post the results of this search tomorrow, after I look for a few more records at the FHC.
